Children's Museum - Part One

Alec and friends,

I had a great day (and Chuck did too) at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.   It is a fun place. I know that you have been there before for the Hot Wheels exhibit, but they have new exhibits too!   I first stopped at Dinosphere which is an exhibit that is permanent, meaning it will always be there.

Do you see us?

There was a paleontologist working, do you know what a paleontologist does? They are a type of scientist that studies the history of life on Earth. So in this case they are looking a dinosaur bones, but there are paleontologists that study other things like plant fossils.

Here is a picture of what the paleontologist was working on the day I visited

There are many, many displays and here is one I found interesting, although they say it is a new dinosaur it really is old.

Alec, do you remember the train ride we took at the Children's Museum? Although it wasn't a real ride, the train you saw was real, here is a picture of it

Here is the sign that says how they got the train engine into the building.

And another sign about what the train engine was used for

So, that is enough for today's blog, stay tuned for tomorrow for more adventures at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.

Happy Easter!!

March madness

We had about 6 inches of snow from last night into today.    It's hard to believe this weekend is going to be Easter!!

Hope everyone is enjoying this last snow storm (hopefully)!

I'm hoping to have more adventures over the weekend!

Results from my hospital visit

Alec and friends

As you know I visited the hospital last week and here are some xrays they showed me, you can really see the broken bones in these pictures.

A broken arm

A lower leg fracture

and an xray of the head

I wonder if anyone in your class has ever had any xrays done.  Your great-aunt Joanie had a broken leg when she was going into the 7th grade.  She broke her leg skate boarding, did you know that? That is probably something that you didn't know about her.

The weather is suppose to be warm this weekend, I hope to go outside and do some things, so hopefully I can  update this blog.

Have a great weekend and maybe we can Facetime over the weekend!

Lazy weekend in Indiana

I had a very lazy weekend in Indiana Alec, your Great-Aunt had to work so I had quite a bit of time alone.  I know that you have met Tyler before, but here is a picture of us taking a nap.

Tyler snores quite a bit!!!

Here is a map so you and our classmates can see where Avon is in relationship to Wapakoneta. It is a 3 hour drive from Avon to Wapakoneta.

It is warm today (Sunday) and here are some flowers that are coming up.

And the picture of the house where I am living.

I hope to  have more interesting things in the coming weeks for you.

Have a good week!

I made a new friend!!!

Alec,
Today I met a new friend Flat Chuck, here is a picture of the two of us together

His jersey says "13 WTHR" which is a local TV station in Indianapolis.   You can follow his adventures here

I went to work with your Great-Aunt.  She works at a small hospital west of Indianapolis called Hendricks Regional Health.  Today I visited the Radiology department.  Here is a picture of me getting ready to have my arm examined.

Then after that I relaxed in one of the beds in the Radiology department.

It was not a very comfortable bed, but I was only there for a short time to take the picture.   The monitor on the left can be hooked up to patients to see their heart rate to make sure they are not sick.

I will share more pictures of the hospital later on, so keep checking back.  I hope to do some fun things this weekend!

Bye!

I have arrived at my destination

Greetings Alec from Avon, Indiana

I arrived safely at your great-aunt's home in Avon Indiana.  Avon is a suburb of Indianapolis, the capital of Indiana.
It was a snowy day and I believe that you did not have school in Wapakoneta.  But even here in Avon, rain, hail sleet or snow did not prevent me from arriving at my destination.
The first order of business was to have a snack....... and nothing is better than Girl Scout cookies here I am enjoying a few Thin Mints.

I ate an entire sleeve!! I need to save the rest for another day.

I don't know what is in store for me but stay tuned to this blog for my adventures.

Enjoy the rest of the week at school!
